They Say "Third Time Lucky..."

Okay I promise not to blog anymore about K's birthday after this. His group of friends who were not in town that weekend of his birthday very kindly organised a surprise dinner for him last Thursday night.  Chris had booked a table in a restaurant in Chinatown for 13 people and all I had to do was to turn up with him without divulging any details. Unfortunately he was so swamped with work that day in office and although he remembered we were meeting for dinner, the word "Chinatown" didn't catch his attention. So came 6pm and he called saying he is on the train home after a mentally intense day, and suggested meeting somewhere closer to home for dinner, conveniently forgetting "Chinatown".  I panicked.  What am I gonna do knowing there are 11 peeps waiting for us in the restaurant?  So I said "No cannot, we have to go Chinatown."  And he replied in surprise "But why must we go there?"  "Err.. because we have to go Chinatown?&q

Happy Birthday to you!

Two posts in a row about K :)  It was his birthday on Monday and so I had planned a little birthday treat on Saturday.  I know he loves the musical Wicked a lot and so I had booked tickets for Saturday.  Guess what, turns out that it would have been his fourth time watching it!  He really does love this musical.  A lot.  To be fair, I had no idea it would be his fourth time and he had no idea I had booked it in advance as a surprise.  Nonetheless a pleasant surprise.  (I bet he knows all the songs by heart now.  Test him!) Outside the Apollo Theatre Would look better if only there were no construction works in the background.. On his actual birthday, I had planned for a little cake surprise near his workplace.. sigh used to be my workplace too but oh well.  Unfortunately the wind was too strong and so the candle didn't work! Nevermind it's the thought that counts.  What was amazing was the sunset over St Paul's Cathedral.  It took my breath away - how beautiful,

eXploring UK | Oxford

Last Saturday K and I made a trip outside London to Oxford.  It's special because he was bringing me to his second hometown in the UK, a place where he spent one year doing his post graduate studies.  I know he is so gonna cringe knowing I am devoting a blog to his life in Oxford!   It was a sunny and warm-ish day, that God for that.  We took the train from Paddington station to Oxford, one hour away.  It's always nice to do day trips like that, embarking on a little adventure!  The last time I went there, it was with Cyn, Alicia and QKL.  We had in mind to visit Christchurch College , where Harry Potter was filmed.  I enjoyed that trip and whenever friends from home visited, I do recommend Oxford if they want to do a day trip out.  But today it's a little more special :) Because I had a personal tour guide! When we arrived it was about noon, and we needed food.  I remembered the last time we came, we had lunch at this pub near the station, just by a bridge.  See

And the flatmates meet again

Since we moved out last September, I haven't spent any one to one time with Marketa.  She has moved far west to Warwick Avenue and with her busy jet setting lifestyle, it's not easy to get some time in her diary hehe Finally we met up last Saturday in her new neighbourhood and I almost felt I had to dress up a little to match the posh-ness of the area. Imposter!! haha outside somebody's posh front door.  Super like, wish I could live here!  We had a late lunch at this cafe called Raoul's which has a lovely interior.  It was a sunny day and I was tempted to suggest sitting outside but I guess M knew better.  The sunshine wasn't guaranteed and so we took a seat inside.  Really busy but glad we got a corner table facing this nice chandelier. We chatted for a long while, just catching up and talking about life in general.  M being older than me by 2 years seems so much wiser and in some ways, is like a mentor to me.  We talked about our families, our
