Thank God for lifelong friends

Guess Who I Met Today?

Baby Sammy!!   He still looks so adorable - if not more! Had the chance to meet up with Pris and Steph with K at Coffee Club, followed by dim sum lunch two days later.  Always so good to catch up with the Tews, gonna miss them but I take heed in the fact that Germany and London aren't too far away :) This cheeky baby Who doesn't love a happy baby? Pris/ Steph, I hope you don't mind me publishing so many photos of cutie Sammy on my blog.  He is just too adorable you see!

*dong dong dong dong qiang!!*

Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone! To be honest, it has been like a family gathering affair everyday since I arrived (I know, lucky me :) ) so tonight's reunion dinner is not much different, except that the food is more sumptuous - big thanks to ah ma.  88 years old and still going strong.  Hallelujah! - and my uncle whom I don't see very often, is here tonight to join us.  After dinner, the usual happens.. the family led by my brother is once again playing our favourite card game.. and later, my aunt will be displaying the tray of sweets and the tins of new year goodies on the table to welcome guests for the next two days.  And we will be receiving red packets from my dad and grandma hehehe  Of course the TV is on and later the usual annual TCS 8 countdown show will start.  The novelty for this show has worn off years ago but nonetheless it will always be on our TV.  And we know there is a high chance we will be watching the repeat telecast ( yawn ) of this at our uncle's place t

Goodbye City, Hello Wharf

When I first arrived in London, my colleagues would make mention that we work in the city.  To which I would think "Of course we work in the city.. London is a city, everyone here works in the city.  What are you talking about?  Chey."  Later I realised that they meant the City of London , which pretty much was the original boundary of London many years ago.  London then was small, tiny even compared to today.  Later on whenever people ask where I work, I would almost beaming, say "Oh I work in the city" trying to sound cool because I thought it is cool "to work in the city".  (And I still do btw.) But alas, unfortunately, we are moving to Canary Wharf at the end of this month!  Canary Wharf is the new financial hub of London.  Where all the big investment banks, big rating agencies, Bloomberg, Reuters, and many other big financial institutions are located.  It is like Raffles Place.  So basically, we are moving from the old historic and charming City, t

The little red dot beckons..

Am heading home for Chinese New Year very soon!  I have started my meet up schedule as usual and I am conscious that I am unable to meet everyone due to time constraints while juggling between family and friends.  Will be meeting a few people whom I had missed last October, and will be missing some friends, secretly hoping I won't offend them when they find out I've been back.  I can only say "Sorry!".  I've since established a group of "core friends" which we will meet up faithfully when I am back in town :)  This trip is a little special because the Queens' Exchange girls will finally meet up as a group with Pris/Steph (and now Sammy) back in Singapore too!  We will be having our little reunion which I am looking forward to! Strangely I find that I've got a lot of requests this time from friends asking me to help them buy stuff.. over the past few years I have had requests, big and small, some ahem a bit ridiculous which I shall not menti

New Year, New Look!

I have decided for my blog to have a new look for this brand new year.  Sadly, the free chatbox I used to have on the right is no longer free!  Thankfully I managed to get a new one :) Your comments help to keep me blogging and I would love to hear from you small group of readers out there.  I've always made my blog private (you can't find it using any search engines) because I'm a bit shy (yes I am..) and I love to share my life with the people I know. :) Have also made a new blog banner today, yes that's how I spent my New Year's holiday.  Spending time in front of the laptop while K reads on the sofa and the apartment is silent except for the radio playing in the background.  Back to my banner - Thanks Yeelin again for the banner which I have been faithfully using for the past 2 years! My new bible theme for 2012, in line with my home church - The Year of Unceasing Fruitfulness.  Trusting God for yet another year of His unending love and faithfulness! p.s.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to all you faithful readers of this blog! May it be an amazing year ahead filled with His unending blessings and I pray that we would all be hit with the blessings in Deuteronomy 28! :) 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: 3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 “The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and
