of Tulips and Windmills

That's right - Amsterdam! We were there over the weekend to see the tulips bloom in season :) still remember last year when Alicia and JL jio-ed us to go Amsterdam together but we were still in Singapore preparing for our relocation so sadly we turned them down saying we will go next year.. and then fast forward, it's one year later! I must say I haven't really tried locating the Netherlands on the map- I didn't know it's that near to the UK! *sheepish This must be the shortest flight we took.. less than 45min! Saturday after touching down we went to Keukenhof in Lisse, 35km out of Amsterdam. This is the largest flower garden in the world. *excited They were soooo many people (esp old ppl makes me think of my dear granny wishing I could bring her here too) and I must say we spent a lot of time just queueing up. Queueing up for the bus, queueing up to go in, queueing up to buy food, queueing up to go toilet (!!), and eventually queueing up again to t

*drumroll* One year in London!!

Hey peeps! We have actually been here in London for exactly a year today!! whoop whoop Inspired by a website I saw, I decided to do an "all-in montage" for myself and having some trouble going thru tons of photos.. so just sieved out a few memorable ones; might seem a bit narcissistic oh well, just let me be for once! WOW it has been an amazing amazing journey for me. Looking back, yes it was very very eventful and this whole experience is something which I dreamt of and never thought would come true. Truly even till today, I am forever thankful to dear Abba who provided and saw me through every single step of the way. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and the reality of me being here just hits me and I just go "wow... praise Jesus." :)) One of my fav verses that always resound in my head: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Right we are back in London now... seriously feeling very happy coz was beginning to miss home in London after a week. I thought after resting aka hibernating over winter of not travelling (last trip out was during Christmas), my overdose (or rather, our overdose) in travelling would recover.. alas.. I think we are all on an overdose still .  The way we sight-see is even more of a touch and go and in extreme cases like in Lisbon our last stop, we walked really slowly and lazily and did things like "eh zoom in on the monument can already lah, no need to walk so far just to see..." Can you imagine?! Yes very sheepishly must admit we were doing ultimate chilling out and being really lazy. LSC's fav word "Chill lah!" And the most scary thing was eating from place to place!! Alicia being the most petite among us, surprisingly has the biggest stomach among us! Since I mentioned 40% of the time was spent eating, I think I shall start in the direction of food... spani

oops I know I´ve been slack in updating my blog. No worries, nothing happened to me during the G20 protests heehee It´s the easter long weekend and we are now on holiday in Lisbon, Portugal. Few days before, we have been in Granada and Seville in Southern Spain for our mini road trip! Before I blog more or post photos when I´m back in London, I must say this is such a foodie trip and I am so scared of my travelling companions!! They eat non-stop!! (we tracked down the original Portuguese egg tarts today and we felt like we´ve experienced Lisbon already.. singaporeans tsk!) LSC said he can break down our time spent this holiday- 40% eating, 40% walking slowly (I think it´s the sun) and maybe 20% or less on sightseeing. *sheepish* Weather´s sunny and windy, it makes us feel sleepy most of the time and so now we are back in our hostel.. me surfing around while the rest of them are having an afternoon siesta. (!!!) Sleeping right after a heavy lunch! *_* will blog more when we get ba

scary

what a day it has been..! well ok not that I witnessed anything with my own eyes.. early morning Moorgate was quiet and shops were closed. Most people were wearing jeans to work and people shuffled quickly looking around for any "action" but there were only policemen everywhere and no protestors in sight. Apparently they started about noon and there were loads of them outside Bank of England, pretty near to where I work. We were told to stay in the building and not go out *whew I brought my own lunch* coz obviously our building is one of their targets. Throughout the day we were just watching live news online while working and there was really a buildup of protestors aka angry people.. I pity the policemen actually.. I saw on the news this policeman whose head was bleeding and we saw this guy hitting the police with a long metal rod.. it was crazy. Kathryn and Paul, the brave souls decided to go out and have a quick look *timid bel decided to give a pass, contented wit
