It's hot hot hot.

Can really sense summer now coz it has been really hot these days! The temperature is reminding us more n more of SG back home *strong sunshine and no wind like before*.. and I wonder why the sudden drastic change in weather. Obviously locals like it a lot but not really for us S'poreans. anyways the most amazing thing was that we went jogging for both Sat and Sun mornings! yea feel the urge to exercise lah. Saturday morning we jogged from Canary Wharf to Billingsgate Market (aunties hor) to buy fresh seafood. ooh we bought fresh salmon, scallops, prawns and cod fish. Met Jianliang, Christine, Isabelle and Roy there at 745am (stalls close at abt 8ish). So we woke up at 630am to jog there. Amazing rite haha Christine came by our place after that; we cooked the fresh seafood for lunch, and we had it like a mini picnic on our balcony with our mat and yummilicious food, and bossa nova music in the background & of coz, with the sunshine outside. nice ambience eh. hehe Chee

It's a Chocolatey Affair

We are on an overdose of chocs over the weekend coz we went Belgium !! haha yea after 3 weekends in London, we went for another weekend trip out of town. To Bruges (pronounced "broosh") and stopover Brussels for a few hours. Hmm yes before we came, I didn't even know Bruges existed and well, I think it's one of those relatively unknown places people know.. but we went after a various people we met here strongly recommended to us to go. It is a quaint little town (1h train from Brussels) known for their lace and chocolatesssss!!   above: typical lace shops in Bruges It's said that a Belgian consumes an average of 7.6kg of chocolates in one year. Not hard to see why... inside a chocolate shop in Bruges Well we took Eurostar for the first time to Brussels, around 2h train ride and woohoo we have reached Belgium. super nice compared to taking the plane.. (we now have a bit phobia rushing and squeezing with people for the budget airline Ryanair

Friends have been asking me about work and all, besides all the fun times travelling, shopping around, etc you see on my blog. Like our real life  haha.  Well, life is good, thanks to all for your concern :) think we are adapting not bad till now ^^ weather is definitely much better compared to the time we came.. that was horrible with the rain and the cold winds. Very depressing. And now with sunshine, atmosphere everywhere is more upbeat and happy. And yes like many Londoners, we check the weather forecast faithfully everyday on the BBC website. Coz this determines how warm you have to dress for that day, or if you have to bring a brolly out. Work's great as I mentioned with the work life balance thingy going on.. and I am also beginning to enjoy the desk I am supporting even though I am still getting 0_0 with the number of bonds they have, and the magnitude of the notionals.. my calculator cannot contain all the zeros. And my manager is this incredibly nice guy, the hao nan re

Another weekend in London

Well well another weekend in London. first of all, I have to announce that my dear friend May is back in London~ haha yes quite unbelievable. Her London colleagues must have missed her so much that two days after she returned SG, they requested for her to come back! So yay we have company :) Saturday morning .. Initially we wanted to webcam but last min nobody's house was avail so we had to make do with a conference call haha.. they found a comfy corner (I presume) at Starbucks and called me at my home while yours truly was still in dreamland... zzzz... mmm... haha but it was fun to talk to them after 2.5mths despite the quality of connection not at it's best but we can't complain. Ooohh can't wait for August monthend where they come visit visit moi! Hope Zhu is deeply satisfied with her once again, self-picked wallet!! haha reminds me so much of our JC days where we g

what's happening this week...

Wednesday - Team Dinner! Drunken Monkey I often hear that people in London are rather individualistic (to which yes I agree to a certain extent) but I was glad that we found time to go out for a team dinner on wednesday. Two thumbs up for our organizer! Janine picked this place called Drunken Monkey which haha serves dim sum set dinner and the locals said it's good. Not bad lah I'd say altho the concept of eating dim sum for dinner is something new for me, and of coz not forgetting their favourite - booze. Our team marched out at 630pm together much to the amazement of the rest (kinda reminded me of my TP PL team days bk in SG!). It was much fun and laughter and before we knew, we realised it was like 11plus..! Love my team - from all over the world.  Australia, India, Ireland, England, Turkey and of course Singapore! Me and Janine - the only two girls in the team! Can you believe we were having dim sum for dinner Jasdeep, Cyrus and me Bu
