Our autumnal life

Days are short, nights are long.  This is essentially what happens in winter.  I do think it's still considered autumn but this coming week, with the dipped temperatures, perhaps we are in winter already. Christmas decor is up in the Ong household and carols fill the air.  I love putting on a Christmas playlist (Spotify is the best) with the fairy lights blinking on our mantlepiece. Our main Christmas decor in the house I love the idea of having a Christmas tree but when we think about taking down the ornaments and disposing of the tree afterwards, we feel lazy already! lol I can just about manage to keep this Christmas garland and oh I added fairy lights to it this year too.  Spot the little pumpkin which seem to last forever.  Got it since early October!  I'm currently on the lookout for a fresh wreath for our front door and I'm hoping to get it from the lady who has a flower stall near my workplace.  She told me to come back in December so I'm gonna do that

Hello, Autumn

Ah I hope you aren't too tired of me gushing over how beautiful autumn is.  I took some photos of our garden during the foggy weekend and thought I'd share with you. Looking over into our neighbour Keith's garden.  I took this from the second floor. This is quite fascinating although I'm not sure I should be glad seeing this.  I suspect this is weaved by garden slugs because we have seen quite a lot of them this summer!  Of course I squeal and ask K to remove the slugs whenever I see them, much to his annoyance because he's not too fussed.  We think that because it's cold, they weave this to stay warm beneath it, and I see patches of these intricate patterns in quite a few places. Our gardener Daniel came over yesterday and cleared all the fallen leaves, and he assured me there would be more leaves the next time he returns.  K and I bought some bulbs (daffodils, hyacinths, tulips) to plant for Spring and Daniel and I planted them t

All the best, Kine

I first met Kine at church more than 7 years ago.  Gabby and I were attending Sarah's connect group at that time and Marketa being Sarah's close friend, wold join us from time to time and slowly, us 5 girls became my little group of close friends.  It's so nice when kingdom friendships develop from a connect group! Kine ("kee-nay") is from Norway and is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet.  However beneath the sweet exterior is this strong lady who loves her friends and church with a passion.  Funnily, when I got together with K, the first family we introduced ourselves as a couple was to her parents.  We were chatting one fine day and she talked about inviting both K and I to her parents for a couple of days (K insisted I was the one who invited ourselves) but in any case, those 5 days in southern Norway was one of our most memorable trips. London is such a transient place and after 8 years, she received a job offer back in Norway. After debating
