Dragons and Dungeons in Dinan

One of the main reasons why we chose to return to Brittany is because of Dinan.  We came here four years ago and fell in love with this medieval town.  The buildings are very well preserved and it's just a beautiful little town. It was here four years ago that we stumbled upon this English sounding restaurant called Le Canterbury and we loved the food here.  For our wedding anniversary lunch, hubby booked us a table here in advance.  We stepped into this little restaurant and it was the same as how we remembered it to be.  I even remembered where we sat exactly!  The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  We took it easy in Dinan that afternoon, especially with intermittent showers, we couldn't do much. Sardines for my starter Savouring every bite lol As it was Thursday, it was also their market day, which they convert the biggest carpark in town to be the market place.  There we saw vendors selling fresh food, cooked food, clothes and sh

Saint Malo

To celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary recently, we went for a long weekend across the channel to our favourite country France.  K and I love France, we really do.  And we love the french countryside, not so much of crowded Paris. K planned this trip and decided that we should try taking the ferry over with our car, so we can drive around in the convenience of our own car.  Thing is, the ferry trip from Portsmouth to Saint Malo in Brittany takes 10h which is a very long time compared to the plane.  However his enthusiasm for the ferry rubbed off me and so we decided to give it a go.  Sweet hubby also attempted to make a few restaurant bookings in french lol.. the only French sentence he knows is "do you speak English?" (bless him) and he actually managed to get us booked in at a few places beforehand.  Very impressive!  My french however, has gone from rusty to dormant; in fact I struggled to dig out my vocabulary in this trip.  Thankfully most people speak English any
