Salzburg, city of music!

--- Warning - long post! --- I am so excited even writing this post as I have always wanted to go Salzburg after watching Sound of Music when I was young. I can still remember listening to the songs Do-Re-Mi, My Favourite Things, etc on this cassette tape my aunt got me years ago and then after watching the movie, that's it - Salzburg became one of my must-go places, and even more after knowing it is Mozart's birthplace. Indeed, it is a musical city and in Salzburg, you just cannot ignore Mozart's existence. He is everywhere - airport, streets, cafes all named after him, and even his own bridge - the Mozart Footbridge. Upclose and personal with Mr Mozart Poor Mozart hidden between two Carlsberg tents due to the Euro2008 game Overall, Salzburg is a small city mainly the Old Town and the New Town. Many of the historic buildings are in the Old Town so we spent most of our weekend there. Now that Euro2008 is taking place esp this year in Austria & S

Twenty20 Cricket Game

Last Thursday two of our colleagues organised a GEM team outing.. to watch something very British - Cricket! Knowing nothing about this game, I thought just go to see what is it like and it was a great chance to know more people from my department. The Lord's Cricket Ground is supposed to be one of the best cricket fields over here and best thing? We all left office at 430pm! yay Including the big bosses which I thought was quite cool. It was the first cricket game for many of us and initially everyone was asking everyone else what are the rules of this game, etc... Everyone at the ground was given this cardboard with the numbers '4' and '6' for you to flash and wave madly once they score some points. And... err errr 1h later, I kept looking at my watch haha and C iaran beside me was discussing about the EuroCup with our Romanian friend Andre *tsk tsk*. The only fun part was that our colleagues brought a lot of picnic food plus beer (naturally), a

Before May Goes Home...

Sad title but yea, May dearie is flying back to SG this Friday and so this post sums up her trip here and time spent with us. And she's going back to prepare for her wedding...! So happy for her but yet gonna miss her... Last Thursday we met after work and went to watch Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. The story is actually the prequel to The Wizard of Oz. Not bad but still, I prefer Les Mis more. Overall Wicked is on a lighter note and there are some funny parts whereas Les Mis is very heavy in content if you get what I mean. Saturday Cynthia went Dublin with her friend (drank lots of Guiness Stout, that girl haha) whereas I went to Bicester Village with May for shopping! Bicester Village is a factory outlet, one of the biggest over here which has like 90+ shops, cannot cover in one day. We took the train to Bicester North, one hour away from London and then took a shuttle bus to the village. Woohoo~ we nearly went crazy. So sad, I spotted a Dior bag which I like a

Project Scotland

This post is called Project Scotland , as given by our organizer. JL had jio'd Cyn and me to join his group of friends (7 of them) for a road trip to the Scottish Highlands and it had been a really fun filled (lots of laughter) for a full 4 days. This trip was made up of two distinct groups- Auditors vs Clients (yes us altho outnumbered!) *should have cleared compliance for this trip eh? hehe* Altho' there were lots of conversations surrounding their company (esp on this notorious guy whom I shall keep mum) and the audit world, they did try making us feel comfortable by seeking the "client's point of view" once in a while. Anyways think I haven't laughed that much since I came to London :D Duncan, Isa, Huimin, Jianliang, Shany, Shih Chien, me, Jingting and Cynthia Day 1 Cynthia and I took the overnight train to Aberdeen for 11 hours can you believe it.. (I thought I'd have reached Singapore if I took a flight with that amt of time.) JL
