My cutie pie niece turns 3

Last weekend was a big affair back at home because my cutie pie niece Sarah Zoe turned 3!  Another milestone and boy does she look grown up now, at least to me.  The babyish looks are gone and here comes a little girl who is ever flashing her big smile and passing on her infectious laughter to everyone. Her fav character - Princess Sofia With pretty mummy Celebration at school Happiest of birthdays my dear Sarah.  Gu-gu looks forward to seeing you again and we can play together.  May Jesus continue to bless you with health and joy, and may you be a blessing to others.  Love you very much.

Saturday Breakfast

It's been a while since I last had a girly breakfast/ brunch date and so I organised one with both Sarah and Gabby.  Sarah has moved to the other side of London and so I had to come up with a venue central for us, which turned out to be a place recommended by my colleague - Ham Yard Hotel. Early Saturday morning I set off, taking the 9.10am train. Once in town I walked past Trafalgar Square observing the group of tourists starting to fill this place, with cameras in tow.  Soon I saw a snaking queue to get into the National Gallery.  Whoa, talk about being kiasu ! Trafalgar Square Street artist drawing flags of the world.  And of course solidarity with Spain in light of the terrorist attack. It was a bright and breezy Saturday morning and it was actually a nice and quiet walk to Ham Yard.  I walked past Soho and passed by Chinatown.  Soon I reached Piccadilly Circus and managed to reach the hotel just on time. It was very nice to catch up and see how my

Old Rugged Cross | Man of Sorrows

After church yesterday, I was reminded of the simple message of salvation in Christianity.  Growing up I learnt the old church hymn of the Old Rugged Cross and sang it many times during chapel services in school. Now this what I term a modern version of the Old Rugged Cross - Man of Sorrows, by Hillsong - which tells the simple story of how we are all saved by Jesus and the blood He shed for us at the cross.  Been humming this song all day and thought I'd share it here. Verse 1 Man of sorrows, Lamb of God By His own betrayed The sin of man and wrath of God Has been on Jesus laid Verse 2 Silent as He stood accused Beaten, mocked, and scorned Bowing to the Father's will He took a crown of thorns Chorus Oh that rugged cross my salvation Where Your love poured out over me Now my soul cries out hallelujah Praise and honour unto Thee Verse 3 Sent of heaven, God's own Son To purchase and redeem And reconcile the very ones Who

Life back home

Let me take a break from blogging about France. Woohoo we have finally moved back home for now; it has been 3 weeks so far, and we are loving every minute of it.  Yes there were loads to do - bringing boxes back from our shed, unpacking, cleaning (seriously, we saw spiders in the sealed boxes - thankfully not too many).  And the process goes all over again.  I was very thankful to K who did most of the hard work, and we had our cleaner Edina over on the first Sunday to help us.   She cleaned and mopped the whole house again, and vacuum cleaned our sofa too, cos dust, as I found out, is an all powerful thing which can seep through any cracks and settle on anything and everything, even in rooms which the workers didn't touch.  That was our first weekend which was exhausting to say the least.  The second weekend was spent just enjoying the half-done house, our new bedroom and just happy to be back on our bed. House status update - it is half done with exposed raw wooden planks o
