It's been a while since I last had a girly breakfast/ brunch date and so I organised one with both Sarah and Gabby. Sarah has moved to the other side of London and so I had to come up with a venue central for us, which turned out to be a place recommended by my colleague - Ham Yard Hotel.
Early Saturday morning I set off, taking the 9.10am train. Once in town I walked past Trafalgar Square observing the group of tourists starting to fill this place, with cameras in tow. Soon I saw a snaking queue to get into the National Gallery. Whoa, talk about being
kiasu!

Street artist drawing flags of the world. And of course solidarity with Spain in light of the terrorist attack. |
It was a bright and breezy Saturday morning and it was actually a nice and quiet walk to Ham Yard. I walked past Soho and passed by Chinatown. Soon I reached Piccadilly Circus and managed to reach the hotel just on time.
It was very nice to catch up and see how my girls are doing. So much to talk about that Sarah needed 3 cups of Americano! Whilst both Gabby and I ordered a coffee and a fresh juice each. The restaurant was beautifully done and it wasn't crowded at all. Our waitress was very attentive and service was really good. I enjoyed my omelette very much too; I thought to myself it was one of the best breakfast omelettes I've ever had.
Finally after more than 2h, we decided to ask for the bill. Not before Gabby suggesting having a look at this beautiful library on our way out.

What a stunning room. It's meant as a waiting room for guests checking into the hotel. |

And how could we not be in the pic ;) |
Gabby and I walked down Regent Street and headed toward John Lewis as she needed to get something. By this time it was crowded everywhere and suddenly I felt disinterested in what's around me and felt like going home. Which is rather unlike me lol. Alas I guess it is a sign of age. Gabby had to rush off soon after, and I tried to walk around on my own for a while but gave up within the hour. I called hubby K and told him I was heading home, much to his surprise. He thought he didn't mind going into town to meet me especially it has been a while since we both were in central London on a weekend. I told him the thought of lazing at home sounded better to me that Saturday afternoon. Which is what we did eventually. I think we are too used to life in the countryside these days.
