In love with Provence

Nimes - Arles - Avignon - Montsalier - Isle Sur La Sorgue - Gordes - Senaque Abbey - Rossillon - Sault - Manosque - Marseille In search of sunflowers and lavender... Provence in southern France is every bit of the french countryside you could ever imagine. Picture the setting of t he sun perched high, shining very brightly in the cloudless sky. The occasional wind blows stirring up the sand on the ground. The ground is dry and sandy, reflective of the weather. It made me wonder if it ever rains here. Set within the Vaucluse Valley, this was where we started our journey. From Nimes . We flew in early on Saturday morning and after collecting our car, we set off into the countryside keeping in mind our agenda- to search for fields of countless sunflowers and rolling lavender. The first few fields we came across had sunflowers all with their heads bowed low signifying they were dying away which was sad. We did ample research before this trip and we had the lavender fields

birthday dinner

Got invited to attend Faith and Liandi's Birthday dinner at Del' Aziz @ Bermonsey Spa on Saturday night! These were the few shots I stole from the night with my now under performing camera... birthday girls enjoying their cake; our Mediterranean dinner quite like how this shot turned out With the two birthday girls, also two of the nicest girls I've met in Hillsong :) Faith Liandi

Come Dine with Me

I realised that I hosted dinner at my place almost every night last week! Tuesday Sabrina came over which I've mentioned below. Wednesday Sarah came over for our bible study discussion and I cooked THE salmon pasta again (yummy as usual). No pictures needed, I think everyone knows this infamous dish by now haha (Col even emailed me asking for the recipe! =P) Thursday Yeelin cooked pesto pasta with grilled sausages and homemade mozzarella cheese salad as a side dish and brought over to my place. Very nice. We went to Tesco after dinner and couldn't resist a french apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Sweet. Friday was the big project of the week coz I invited quite a few friends over for my (belated?!) housewarming BBQ! Inspired by the recent very successful BBBQ, I decided to do it again but alas weather was not good but we decided not to let it affect our mood (it was kind of a replay of the horrifying BBQ in the rain in Lake District last year actually but of co

Dinner with Sabrina

Finally invited Sabrina to my new place on Tuesday night! happy to meet up after so long! our home cooked dinner - pork chops with mashed potato and steam veg her present for my new place! (still learning and trying my best not to shorten it's lifespan prematurely hehe)

do nothing

Well the weekend has passed by... uneventfully. Have you ever had one of those days where you didn't really do anything excepting lazing around and yet at the end of it you feel very fulfilling? haha this past weekend was exactly it. Saturday was rainy and I just stayed home in the afternoon doing nothing much. Evening I caught the movie My Sister's Keeper with Sarah, Miriam and Marketa at West India Quay.. omg it was such a weeper movie, but good girly company for 2h. (I totally wouldn't expect guys to like this kind of movie.) After the show, Sarah too being in the lazy mood, we decided to have an instant noodles night out at her place and it was funny coz even though it was just plain instant noodles but due to the cool weather plus the rain, slurping a hot bowl of noodles soup was just so.... comfort food for me. Cheap and good!

Weekend of Hampton Court Palace & BBBQ

Remember the recent Singapore Day 09? Yes it was held here at Hampton Court Palace. So sad I couldn't get to go! Just when I was blogging about feeling lost on how to spend the weekend, literally at the same time (no joke), I heard noises in my garden patio and boo! Yeelin and Felix came by to check on my tap (it was leaking the night before when they were here). So sweet of them! And upon chatting, they said they were going Hampton Court Palace later in the day and invited me to join them (altho I know I'm gonna be like a big light bulb shining shining.. haha) The rain came and they also needed to run some errands prior so after the minor delays, when we reached the palace it was like late afternoon so we didn't really explore much. YL and I paid GBP3.50 each and went to explore the "oldest maze in the world" (as stated in the Guiness Book of Records) while Felix went to snooze under some tree. We walked along the river thames after the palace closed and
