Happy Birthday Daddy!

Last Friday was Daddy Ong's birthday.  Since he turned the big 4-0, he has lost interest in celebrating his birthday and keeps telling me "a low key birthday will do" with each passing year.  We did tell Izzy that daddy's birthday is coming soon and she got all excited and kept asking "where are your birthday balloons, daddy?" I wanted to surprise K and so I ordered an ondeh lapis cake from a Malaysian baker who lives near us, thanks to the recommendation of our friend CY.  (It was really yummy).  CY also suggested to me to order the Burger & Lobster DIY kit, and we could have a lobster roll in the comfort of our home.  Ooh lala, we love Burger & Lobster - so that's what I did!  I chose the delivery dates for both food items, which was the night before K's birthday.   Friday lunchtime, we had some pizza, garlic dough balls with chicken noodle soup - all pretty simple stuff from the supermarket.  We d...

Welcome Spring

Yes Spring is here, people!  Officially in Spring now with warmer temperatures and flowers blooming everywhere it's so beautiful.  Such wonderful sights that accompany each season - I'm treasuring all of it and taking it in as much as I can. At Greenwich Park on Mothering Sunday This morning whilst walking Isabelle to childcare, we saw a tree with beautiful white flowers blossoming all over.  We hear birds chirping happily and even spotted a squirrel out in our garden searching for nuts.  Our immediate neighbours have a tall pole where they hang bird feed and we have since witnessed that not only birds come to feed, squirrels climb up this pole and somehow hang themselves upside down and contort in such a way they can take the seeds out to eat too.  The bulbs that were planted in our garden last winter are also flowering - mini purple Irises, yellow daffodils and some purple hyacinths.  I think tulips will be next.  I'm also starting to point them out ...
