Dinner for One

Since I am on the topic on dinners... Last Monday I decided on making a simple and healthy dinner after work. Baked salmon with pesto sauce & lemon with a healthy salad On a separate note, two more random daily shots to share :) This famous British mantra is now even found on luggages Love looking at kitchen stuff esp sweet ones like these!

Valentine's Day (again)

Okay I lied when I said in my previous post about doing a lil post on V day. hehe because this is another one! While most people, at least in office, were planning to have dinners outside with their hot dates, we both decided to have a simple dinner at home.  Initially we thought of the Thai restaurant near my house along the Thames and they said they only do a set menu on 14 Feb, for GBP48 per person for a 3 course meal.  What?  Err, no thanks.  When typically we spend less than GBP20 per person per meal there. What a rip off. I volunteered to cook and had an idea- to have OUR own 3 course meal.  And I had the exciting idea to make some smoked salmon blinis for our starter, aglio olio pasta for mains, and a dessert from M&S (don't be too hard on myself to make one from scratch lah.  It was a work day afterall.). Tada!  Presenting my smoked salmon blinis. I got the blinis (small base like a mini pancake but it's not sweet) from the superm...

Totem | Cirque du Soleil

Ah Valentine's Day.  I have to clarify that I am not crazy over V-day but since I haven't celebrated this for a long time, I guess I am well entitled to write a little post of my V-day with K right? hehe Actually it's not that we planned to celebrate it big time but I suggested watching Totem by Cirque du Soleil as I think it's one of those you watch once in a lifetime plus it might most probably be more expensive to do so in Singapore.  I mean they have to travel a long way from Canada!  (I still remember us booking the tickets just before we went to Stuttgart for Christmas. And at that time February seemed an awful long time away.) We booked our tickets for last Saturday's matinee show, 3 days before V-day.  Followed by dinner in a really nice restaurant nearby in High Street Kensington- Babylon at Rooftop Gardens, recommended by Marketa. http://www.roofgardens.virgin.com/en/the_roof_gardens/babylon Like everyone, we were very impressed with the acts...

Snowy London

I have been quiet since coming back.  So what has been happening in London?  It is freezing cold and last Saturday night, it snowed lots!  Not everyone loves the snow, something I don't understand because I can stare out at my window admiring the falling snow for a long time while sipping a cup of hot tea, or better still hot chocolate. Some snow scenes to share with you :) Flurries of snow against the street lamp My street & my house up close after a night of snowing. Doesn't it feel like I live in the countryside? My backyard.  All of Rebecca's gardening are covered.  She wasn't very happy. K giving a huh look when he found his car covered with snow Snow trees.  On my way to work. A church near All Saints
