Finally a decent ramen place!

Been relatively quiet here, lots going on around and nothing really specific to blog about.  I tried asking K if he would like to do a post here and he says he prefers to remain the "all mysterious K".  Hmm.. but then again, I realise I can blog about random stuff.. things that I have done recently, even simple things like where did we go for dinner after work last Friday. Winter is dawning upon us and it is getting colder each day.  K is nursing a very bad cough sigh.  Last Friday after work Meihui asked if we were both keen to meet up for dinner, and separately Lawrence asked K if we were free to meet up for dinner.  So we thought why not all four of us meet up then.  I had a craving of ramen noodles - it has to be said I have not come across any decent ramen noodles here in London, shocking as it may sound because I do have the impression that London has pretty much most of the world's cuisine here.  How not to include ramen?  To be fair I have stopped my foodie hunt

K meets Mr Peacock

It's been more than 4 months since we said our vows at the beautiful Pendley Manor Hotel in Hertfordshire.  Was browsing through pictures and thought I'd share below candid shots of K meeting Mr White Peacock. "I want to imitate you like how you are standing.." Mr Peacock got bored and decided to turn sideways "Wait!  Don't go!" says K Peacock: "Whatever, I am gonna walk away…"

Shake Shack | Covent Garden ready for Christmas

I'm not sure if it is just friends around me or is it the fad but of late there has been this craze in chasing down the best burger in London.  So there are a few contenders so I heard: Shake Shack, Five Guys, Patty & Bun… I suspect we are one of the last ones to try Shake Shack and one of the few who have not tried Five Guys and Patty & Bun.  Too slow onto the bandwagon! Shake Shack.  This is an American burger place which opened their first branch at Covent Garden in July this year and I hear there is always a queue.  Well we we decided to find out for ourselves on Friday night after work.  What a welcome from Covent Garden too, we saw that it was all decked and ready for Christmas!  We were greeted with such a beautiful scene.   Isn't it beautiful? We met at Shake Shack and perhaps because it was 830pm (late?) there wasn't much of a queue.  There were people lingering out and about, and a constant stream of diners, but nothing considered as crowded

Macaron Bakers for the morning

Some of you might know I have tried quite few things on those daily deals you get from either Groupon or Living Social.  During Easter time I saw this deal on learning how to make macarons and they had a deal for 2 so I asked if Marketa was interested.  We both love macarons and it was her who introduced me to the famous ones in Zurich called Sprugli.   Finally many months later, today was the day of the lesson.  Unfortunately it was rainy, the sort of perfect day for a lie in but I had to be in Hackney at 10am.  What a hip area to go to, Hackney. Marketa and me The baking school is under the railway arches called "Happy Kitchen".  It looks so hidden that you could easily walk past it thinking it's some shop under renovation?  It has been so long since I took the bus and I had to take bus 277 towards Highbury and Islington for about 30min. Arriving at Ganache Macaron We were split into pairs and then we watched a demo round by the instructor Audre
