Our Little Photoshoot

Mission accomplished!  Getting both boys to look and smile at the camera AT THE SAME TIME. The Tews boys are so adorable and loveable despite the noise level they can generate, with decibels unheard of.  lol.  Nonetheless they are very sweet little humans, they really are.  I love how I can hold a proper conversation with Sammy this time round.  He used to call me Linda and as of last year, I am proud to say he has finally called me by my real name, i.e. Belinda!  For some unknown reason, Gabriel keeps calling me Tina?!  I would point to myself and say to him "Belinda!"  And he would cheekily smile back and say "No!  Tina!"  (Pris, who is Tina??) Brotherly love.  They address each other as "ge-ge" and "di-di" - so cute. Gabe has such chubby cheeks and is a happy toddler, learning new words and keeps telling me "plane!"  "Look!  Moon!" or telling me "blue!  red!  yellow!"  He likes cleanliness (good...

It was a Merry Christmas indeed

Hello from all of us in London! We are having the lovely Tews over for an English (ok more like English/ Singaporean) Christmas this year and we are all having a fun time.  Will update my blog soon of how our Christmas went. Meanwhile we will be busy playing with the boys! Love, B&K Can we say… 4 Singaporeans and 2 Germans here?

Jingle Bells Christmas

This is proving to be a busy December.  Not with work but social commitments so we are not complaining.  Last Sunday K and I attended our first Jingle Bell Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall, together with Liling.  I remember last year where I was keen to get tickets and they were all sold out, showing how popular Christmas concerts are at the RAH.  I made a mental note to book tickets in advance and so I did ;) There are many concerts to choose from - choir, to orchestra, to dances, some even with candlelight (to add to the atmosphere).  We decided on choosing a more upbeat, modern concert and it was a good decision. Excited much All very happy and festive When we arrived we were blown away by the decor on stage and around the box seats.  All very festive!  Many of the audience wore Santa hats (I brought them too!), some with blinking lights, some literally brought strings of lights to wave in the hall while singing along. ...

Christmas with the Ongs

We hosted a Christmas dinner at ours two Saturdays ago, which is looking to be a yearly affair now.  Last year we hosted a bigger party for about 12-15 people where people mingled about and we served Singaporean dishes.  This year we decided on a smaller and more cosy number, making it possible for a sit down roast dinner.  Just about.  Cos we only had 8 chairs and we had 8 of us in total.  Whew! We planned our menu in advance and K gets excited.. or we call it gan cheong, whichever you decide on ;) He was very keen to plan the food and the people to invite and so we locked down the date with our guests more than a month in advance.   Kiasu  much? ;) I'm not complaining because it was very much a joint effort between us and I loved the teamwork.  We decided for him to do his signature salad, and be in charge of the roast beef (beef seems to be his forte), and I will do a separate starter, and friends were happy to bring wine, juices, and Lolly...

Tourist in my own country for a day

Friends for life Mimi and Min are two of my oldest friends in the world and we never fail to meet up whenever I am back.  Recent years also see Min bringing her little girl Charis along, who is growing up so fine, a Jesus-girl at heart :)  Despite being miles apart, and barely whatsapp'ing one another normally, each time we seem to be able to catch up from where we left of and our table is always full of laughter.  These are real kingdom friendships y'all. ;)  And oh yes, western food is pretty much "banned" in each of my meet ups, and so this was at a local zi-char  place which Mimi suggested, on Keong Saik Road. I was very thankful for Mimi who took a day off work just to accompany me and most importantly, our agenda of the day was to check out the new National Gallery (yay).  She knows the arty-farty side of me and I still remember us checking out art exhibitions and watching weird artsy movies which no one would watch with me hah.. those were the...
