Our Little Photoshoot

Mission accomplished!  Getting both boys to look and smile at the camera AT THE SAME TIME.

The Tews boys are so adorable and loveable despite the noise level they can generate, with decibels unheard of.  lol.  Nonetheless they are very sweet little humans, they really are.  I love how I can hold a proper conversation with Sammy this time round.  He used to call me Linda and as of last year, I am proud to say he has finally called me by my real name, i.e. Belinda!  For some unknown reason, Gabriel keeps calling me Tina?!  I would point to myself and say to him "Belinda!"  And he would cheekily smile back and say "No!  Tina!"  (Pris, who is Tina??)

Brotherly love.  They address each other as "ge-ge" and "di-di" - so cute.

Gabe has such chubby cheeks and is a happy toddler, learning new words and keeps telling me "plane!"  "Look!  Moon!" or telling me "blue!  red!  yellow!"  He likes cleanliness (good one Gabe, high five).  This morning Stephan made the boys toast for breakfast; little Gabe's hands and cheeks were all smeared with nutella.  Yet he wanted to drink some milk and refused to hold the cup with his dirty hands.  He made some noises asking for my attention.  Sammy who is the best interpreter for Gabe, had to step in because I had no idea what Gabe wanted.  "Oh his hands are dirty and he wants to drink the milk." Sammy said nonchalently.  "Oh I see Gabe!  Ok Auntie Bel bring you to wash hands ok?"  He followed me in his small footsteps to the toilet to wash his hands before he proceeded to hold the cup to his mouth and drink some milk.  The other day he looked out of the kitchen glass door which leads to the garden.  On the floor are littered with small pieces of moss which is typically blown from our roof (old house you see), and he pointed to them and looked at me, before saying "dirty".  "Err yes dirty, you are right Gabe."  And he pointed to the broom outside and looked at me.

Gabe loves his plane (and cleanliness)

Today was their last day in London before they fly back to Germany.  When Sammy saw me this morning, he looked at me sadly and asked me "Auntie Belinda, can I stay at your house?"  "Aww that is so sweet of you Sammy, but don't you miss home?  What about your toys?  Your oma and opa?  They are waiting for you.  And what about your fav - kindy?" (Kindy = kindergarten)
"Yeah but I really like to stay here, with you and Kian.  I love your house.."  He looked so sad, making me feel sad too.  After lunch, when Stephan was packing their luggages, he came over and asked again if he could stay.  "What if I have one more sleep here Auntie Belinda?  Tomorrow I promise we will take the plane home…"  He sure knows how to melt hearts!

Sweet Sammy looking so grown up now

So earlier today whilst their daddy was out buying diapers (we had a mini diaper crisis), and Pris busy preparing food in the kitchen, I managed to coax them upstairs to take some photos in my bedroom which you see here.  The bribe?  By allowing Sammy to also take some pics too and can I say that boy has good skills.  Impressive.

Trying to coax Gabe to look in the right direction.  Look at ge-ge Gabe!

Yes!  Tho' a bit blurry.

Isn't Sammy a good photographer?  I think so too.

Cosying up in the armchair

Sammy aged 4 years and 3 months.  He frowned and complained to me that he has to wait too long for his birthday to come round in September.

Ooh Mommy's here to join us!  :)

Mommy with two distracted boys.  The usual.

I love to roar, says Sammy

Love ya Pris, you are such a SUPERMOM

I'm glad to managed to take some cute shots of the boys creating more memories for this trip.  With the 3rd baby on their way, I'm not sure when would be the next time we would meet.  Now the house feels quiet and empty without the boys screaming or sliding down the stairs lol.  I need to get used to the quiet life ;)  I'm pretty sure the boys would be all happy when they get home and be reunited with their fav toys.  But I'm missing them for sure.

Jubilee Weekend | Afternoon Tea Party

http://www.thediamondjubilee.org/ Today is the end of the Jubilee celebrations and how better to end it off than to have an afternoon tea party in the company of friends, while watching the celebrations on our TV.  It has been quite an emotional afternoon, in the good sense of course.  I don't think I've ever seen Queen Elizabeth on TV (and heard the national anthem God Save the Queen) more than these 3 days combined, but this Jubilee weekend has made me grew to love and admire this lady.  She is 86 and reminds me so much of my own granny, and her strength is amazing.  Imagine being sworn in as queen at the age of 26.  (I mean, what was I doing when I was 26?)  On Sunday when she and Prince Philip went onboard the Spirit of Chartwell boat to watch the River Pageant, it was cold and windy but they stood throughout the 3 hours event.  It was said she was offered some hot tea and a seat, which she both said no to.  I love my grandma but ...

Murder Mystery Dinner Party

Two Saturdays ago we were invited to the Kim's for a themed dinner, specifically a Murder Mystery dinner party.  What is that, you might ask.  It was our first time attending such a dinner too, and so how it works is: a group of people attend a dinner party.  Each is assigned a role and will be given a script to read that night.  The aim of the party is to identify a murderer in the midst of us by the end of the night.  The hosts would work off a dinner game set (they got it off Amazon) and it comes with proper invites, setting/ scene, table name cards, scripts and even a suggested menu.  Clearly RX is an Agatha Christie fan. Two weeks beforehand, we received our invites in the postbox, telling us what roles we each have been assigned and the suggested attire (and props if necessary).  Interesting yes? The dinner was to start at 7pm and we were to have 8 people that night.  It's all very mysterious… Our invitation cards assigned K the...

Cooking mee pok dry | bak chor and fishball noodles

When I touched down at Changi airport a few weeks ago, I was very hungry and K suggested grabbing a quick bite at the food court.  I immediately went for the queue at the bak chor (minced pork) noodles stall.  This one dish is very local and we simply can't find it here.  London's Chinatown has a few Malaysian restaurants with fried kway teow, chicken rice, laksa, etc but there is no authentic fishball noodles or minced pork noodles. When my friend Corinne shared this link last week, I was intrigued and I didn't know K was too.  He suggested going to the Asian supermarket on Sunday to get the necessary ingredients.  We found Dodo fishballs from Singapore here - what a win!  Unfortunately the mee pok (yellow, flat noodles) is of a darker shade here and tastes slightly different (maybe a different type of wheat?).  We found fishcakes too. http://delishar.com/2015/12/fishball-noodles-mee-pok-tah.html This is a healthier version of the hawker center'...
