This evening is the start of the London Tube strike, officially starting at 7pm lasting till Friday. omg.. only in London will such things happen. I cannot imagine something like that happening back home.
My manager asked us to try to wrap up at 5pm and leave office asap tonight. I left at 6pm and everyone in the streets were rushing home; there was mini disorder as everyone hoped to catch the trains before they stop working at 7pm. (Evening newspaper's headlines "The big rush home.") We are told that we can take cabs in to office for the next few days.. but I am wondering if it is even possible to get cabs since almost everyone is affected by the strike.
Some of my colleagues say that I stay "close enough to office" so I can walk.. haha ok previously I would never in my life imagine walking to work. Here, it's 4 stops away by tube so yes theoretically I can walk.. mmm maybe takes me about 50min to walk?
sigh, only in London...
