Home Sweet Home 2

See this month has been such a busy month for me and before my adrenalin from my trip back home dies down, here is a snapshot of what had happened in the past 2 weeks! Of coz, the first and foremost (well, after my family obviously), is feasting on local food so I was pretty pleased that I got to taste almost all on my list (umm list made up in my mind, that is) And then it was reunion with The Girls. We hanged out quite a bit and for starters, we booked a suite (my first hotel suite stay!) in The Sentosa Resort & Spa hotel for one night and so we had a girly afternoon and a really nice chinese dinner at Tung Lok Signatures at VivoCity (yes Bel's suggestion - no western food for 2 weeks!) Nothing close to a Hen's Night at all but it was fun nonetheless. =) Our family suite Attending my own church too, was a really nice feeling. Hillsong is nice, but New Creation Church is even nicer! (hehe you should understand I am biased) And I appreciated the few minutes of time I s...

My best friend's wedding

Yesterday was the wedding of one of my best friends and I was roped in to be one of her bridesmaids (my first time!) together with the rest of our girly gang. It was a very fun but super duper tiring day for us. The day started at 6am. We went over to her place and prepared the stuff for the"gatecrashing games". The groom and his brothers were scheduled to reach at 7.20am. There are so many traditional rituals involved in a Chinese wedding. Don't ask me coz I have no idea man! In fact, we were saying a few generations down the road, all these traditions might be lost altogether. The guys arrived on the dot and Wen's mum was so eager to welcome her new son-in-law that she kept edging us to open the door for him! Finally they went thru the games and the groom was ready to see his gorgeous bride. At Punggol Park before the church wedding The church wedding was very touching for me, especially when Wen's dad walked her down the aisle....

busy bel

I've been so busy that I have barely time to blog this past week! I have been wanting to blog about how I celebrated my birthday and before I had time to sit down and blog about it, it's Hillsong Conference 2009 at the ExCel Centre which I was so excited about because Pastor Prince is one of the guest speakers. At the same time, there was a big project roll out at work which I was in charge of and there were loads of testing on top of my daily PnL work. AND also at the same time, I had guests over for a week! All these in the same week!! Oh man, can you imagine. I was busy Bel. But really thank God that it's all over now and I can sit down and have a cup of tea, enjoy some me-time... whoop! I still don't have time to sort out some photos which I took but in short, I had a really wonderful birthday. It was like a buildup since Ceilidh dancing night on Friday. I met up with 3 different groups of people and had loads of yummy food on Saturday, Sunday and Monda...

Ceilidh Dancing!

That's right, I spent an authentic Scottish night with Sarah and a whole bunch of people from Hillsong at the Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) Club at Camden Town. You must be wondering what is it.. basically it's the Scottish folk dance! haha I know it sounds something what oldies would do (Dunno why I keep thinking of line dancing.. plus it was held in this town hall place which reminded me of like Bishan Community Club from the outside altho it's within a posh neighbourhood.) So after work, I rushed off from office and met Sarah, VJ and Cherry - VJ is this super punk rock meets heavy metal girl from Lithuania, but when you start talking to her, she is this funny and warm person; and Cherry is Sarah's uni schoolmate from Ireland and of coz, we all know Sarah's Scottish. I always can feel the Scot's pride within her, or within every Scot I meet? haha (Kat and a few guys from office are English and they sometimes makes funny remarks about the Scottish altho I don...
