My uni friend Michelle visited London with her brother Alex a few days ago. I attempted to be a good London tour guide (this is my other sideline if you do not know by now) so on Friday we went to Harrods and then to Westminister area to see the usual. There were throngs of tourists as always, and Mich and Alex decided they wanted to walk to Trafalgar Square and beyond. And I just felt so tired battling the tourist crowd; my mind wasn't even concentrating.. thinking of my bed the whole time. So umm I gave up and asked them to go ahead without me.. what a good tour guide I was. I told them I would go home and meet them for dinner instead haha
Have to do a special mention here.. again on the topic of macarons. I decided to get some from Laduree at Harrods this time to compare if this is nice than Sprungli. And after the first bite, I realise that I do prefer Laduree. The crisp outer shell with the soft and rich filling.. yummilicious. But then I soon realise the key lies in how fresh you consume them. Anyhow, I think both are really nice lah. Just wonder why are macarons so expensive. A beautiful box like this is about GBP11. (Yes, very expensive packaging.) Otherwise, it's 100g for GBP5.95 (approx 5 pieces).~~~~~
Saturday, I didn't even attempt to go out with them. Thankfully Mich has been here before so she knows the way around. They wanted to go to Portobello Market and the two football stadiums and again, I asked them to go ahead. heehee I waited at home for Ariel to come over, lazed around the house, watched some show.. and then cooked dinner for them. Yes I admit.. Bel has been really lazy this weekend. But it feels so good I tell ya.
See the smiling happy faces.. it's all because they are deprived of Chinese food. We just can't seem to live without rice for too long don't you think? I have to say I am the same as well.
