and this time it's for the *drumroll please* annual Hillsong Europe Conference 2010! excited whoop!
This conference never fails to amaze me (this is my 3rd conference can you believe it!), the things these church guys do for such conferences. Everything was brought a notch higher, as we moved from the Excel Centre to the O2 arena. Talk about the step of faith, filling up the whole O2 arena for the conference. And it is really exciting for me to be able to witness this. And the hundreds of volunteers who gave up their personal annual leave, sleep and time to serve, it was all with a spirit of excellence and extreme enthusiasm.
What to say, although my pastor from home is not here this year, we had the very famous Joel and Victoria Osteen from Lakewood Church in Texas, the biggest church in America today. Their Night of Hope on Friday was... actually, I don't know the word to describe it... it was beyond my expectations. It was truly a night of inspiration and hope. I didn't think there was any dry eye in the O2 that night. I watch his podcasts as and when, but wow to hear him live in person... I don't expect it to happen again unless I visit Texas at some point of my life.. so yes you could say I was excited to hear from this man- what makes him so special, so enigmatic and what makes his church grow to 40,000 strong (and still growing!). And I think I saw a glimpse of it all that night. God has truly blessed him with such a beautiful family, and oh the encouraging message he and Victoria delivered. (O2 was packed full that night, and Kathy who was serving as an usher on the top floor was literally screaming into the microphones "we neeeeed helpppp!")
When it ended this evening, I somewhat felt lost.. like not knowing what to do tomorrow now that conference is over. It's a strange feeling. I think conference made a difference in my life again, like how it did last year. It's not tangible but I know that seed has been planted. :)
M and I had a precious conversation on the way back tonight.. we feel so blessed to be plugged in such an amazing church, and having conferences like these just exposes us to the Truth and the blessed life that He has in store for us. London + church is the perfect combination for me. It brought me closer to God and established many lasting kingdom friendships. I will be forever grateful for this London experience.. To be away from home miles away, you are plugged out of your comfort zone and have no one else to trust except God. And this is what makes it precious. Many times, I look at my life and I feel like I am not worthy of everything that I have now. But He is faithful and has come through time and again for me.

When only love
Could make a way
You gave Your life
In the beautiful exchange
When only love
Could break these chains
You gave Your life
In the beautiful exchange
Holy are You God
Holy is Your name
With everything I've got
My heart will sing
How I love You
Could make a way
You gave Your life
In the beautiful exchange
When only love
Could break these chains
You gave Your life
In the beautiful exchange
Holy are You God
Holy is Your name
With everything I've got
My heart will sing
How I love You
