Back in Dubvronik, we made our way to Orebic, a town by the Adriatic sea, facing Korcula (Kor-tchu-la) island, one of the many islands on the western coast. We had to take the bus and it was pouring heavily. Sigh when we reached there, we could barely get to the hotel and as we were the last passengers, the bus driver kindly drove us to our hotel, with us paying him extra of course. We couldn't even see Korcula island in the distance, which was very worrying.
I was really worried and kept praying for the rain to stop because we could only take the ferry from Korcula to Split the next day, and that was the last ferry for the summer! What if we missed the ferry... actually, no we cannot miss it. Because there was no option 2. And it was really an answered prayer coz the rain really stopped the next day (reminded me of Jesus calming the storm hehe), and we could take the ferry over and finally made our way up the huge Jadralina ferry for our 5h ride to Split. The sun was shining by then, and lovely weather. Thank you Jesus!
With nothing much to do, we watched what was on tv, which was showing the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.. ah, watching home away from home. Can you imagine we were watching it in faraway Croatia? On a ferry somemore. And thru it all, we needed Uncle LH to update us of what's new back home.. like the 3 buildings standing tall in one of the background.. oh it's the new Marina Bay Sands. Where the casino is. Where the very much talked about infinity pool is. Even my colleagues and M were all asking me about it and I went "huh what is that?" the first time. Ahh.. I was proud to be a Singaporean watching our beautiful night scene, yet I felt like a tourist. (Even though I still think the F1 race is one of the most boring sports to watch. yawn)
We finally reached Split greeted by the beautiful sunset. I love sunsets. Jos and I were so blessed by Uncle LH because he kindly redeemed a room using his corporate points at the luxurious Le Meridien hotel. wooooh... we were so excited! Actually our hotel was not in Split, it's at the outskirts, in this place called Lav. When we reached there, we knew we didn't want to leave. It was too nice. Tooooo nice. He even gave up the two plush inviting huge beds to us girls, and volunteered to sleep on the dingy extra bed. Everyone, applause for Uncle LH.
So our original plan of exploring Split was thrown out of the window, because we fell in love with Le Meridien Lav. We had our last dinner at the hotel's bar & grill, and then chilled out in the lounge listening to live piano jazz... and even paid the casino a visit just to have a look. (I think this was closest to the James Bond idea that I had in my head.) Jos seemed pretty good at the game of roulette, so good that we had to call her "Long Tinguang" of the gambling show many years ago. hahaha it was so funny we kept laughing.
The next morning, we explored the beach front and the omg-gasp-beautiful infinity pool.
You can say we left Croatia, the sun and the Adriatic sea very unwillingly. We told ourselves that we will be back to this beautiful country again. Afterall, M came here twice this summer. Now I understand why.
What a wonderful and blessed summer it has been, and I am ever so thankful for it.
Thank You Jesus xx.

We walked round the marina... care to rent one? All meant for the rich hotel guests.
This sight rendered us speechless
In fact looking at the calm and clear blue Adriatic sea made us feel very zen. This sight rendered us speechless
