Today I felt really happy, something which I haven't felt for some time now. Not that it was extra special but knowing that the weekend is here just brought joy to my heart haha
And finally, can I announce that I got my highly skilled migrant visa today too! (Definitely upped the joy factor ten times at least.) It arrived in the post today, and I got back my docs, passport, and THE much awaited biometric ID card. Hurray! Sweet freedom :) This means I am self-sponsored here, and I am not tied to my company anymore. Not that I want to quit, don't be mistaken.. but because the government is doing away with this work visa thingy this April, after pondering for the longest time, I thought it would be worth it to buy myself an option and hence decided to pay for the price of freedom. I don't want to end up hating my job, and being stuck. This would be the worst thing that can happen.
At night was the Sisters Unite night at Emmanual Centre (think we have it once every quarter?) and I decided I should go this time to hear from Cathy and team who just scaled Mount Kilimanjaro. This is the highest mountain in Africa here, so it's no joke. And we are not talking about young sporty girls. Cathy is our pastor's wife with two teenage children! They were talking about facing challenges in life (who best to hear from right, climbing our own mountains), and also how their climb raised money for the A21 campaign, helping girls who are trafficked into the sex industry.
But before that, lovely Ela my colleague once again invited me up to her place, which is just down the road in Westminister for a quick dinner and a big cup of tea. I ended up getting pasta and meatballs from M&S, and we both succumbed to the Lemon cheese cake. Ooh, Friday treat.. doesn't happen everytime though!

Have I mentioned I am in love with her kick-ass tv?? I couldn't bring my eyes off it!

After church service, Sarah and friends decided to head to the nearby pub for a drink to end all our busy work week. That was really nice and I haven't hanged out with them for a while, plus there's always laughter (a bit too much actually) so.. I ended up going home with sore cheeks. hahaha
