As you probably know now, I run twice a year in the month of July. At least that is what K always says. And he is probably true. Save the few jogs I do with him in summer, most of the year I prefer to laze around at home while he goes running.
Every July, I do the Race for Life - Fight against cancer 5km run, as well as the JPM Corporate Challenge 5.6km. Last year I thought I was rather impressive (haha putting a feather on my cap) because both runs were 3 days apart from each other and I didn't think I could run that much considering I don't run at all. Seriously, by God's grace I tell you.
This year, I joined the Race for Life with Sarah and Sunday was the run at Black Heath Park. Cherry came to cheer us on which was really nice of her. Honestly I was fretting over this run because I didn't train for it, and when I woke up, I felt a tight knot in my stomach. Omg, as if it were an exam or something! Inside I was worried I would end up LAST.
Thank God for Sarah. She encouraged me to continue running when I felt like stopping. Once I trail behind her, she would slow jog to wait for me to catch up. And so it was. Little by little we ran past other girls, and suddenly we heard Cherry screaming at the top of her lungs "Go Sarah!! Go Belinda!! Yeah!!"
We finished the run way faster than what I expected. Hurray! Hallelujah!
Now this Wednesday is the 5.6km Corporate Challenge... hmm.. need another miracle!
