I can't believe that after 5 years in London, this is the second wedding I have been invited to. I guess 3rd time's lucky as they say cos the 3rd time would be MY own wedding - woohoo!! Things are coming round together, we are both getting quite excited. As I was telling my friends, I almost feel I could go into wedding planning full time. It's such a happy job, and you are surrounded by happy people on the actual day although I do know it would be awful if you meet bridezillas who dictate every single thing. Just for the record, I ain't no bridezilla :) Anyway the point I wish to make across is: I suspect I am in the wrong profession.
Ela is my good friend from work, and I was very happy to hear that Vik proposed to her last Christmas. Last month they did a proper wedding back in India where he is from, and this time they needed to do the "legal bit" here in the UK. They booked a beautiful room at the Chelsea Old Town Hall for the ceremony and invited 20 of their closest friends, us included.
"What a beautiful room, maybe we should change it here" Kian whispered. Actually I did wonder why didn't we think about this before? Gabby's brother got married here too, apparently one of the most beautiful town halls in London. "Don't worry ours would be nice too lah" I whispered back.

Man & Wife |
The short and sweet ceremony was over in 20min and they were declared Man and Wife in the eyes of the law. When they emerged from the main door, we all were armed with confetti and welcomed them as newly weds. They hired a few taxis to bring us to a restaurant in a hotel near High Street Kensington. We were seriously surprised by the private room they booked. It was perfect. Again Kian whispered "oh no can we change it to this restaurant?" I think the fiancé is not having much faith in our choice!

We were from the same team previously, and each of us have now moved out to better jobs :) |
And at the lunch reception, the room had tables arranged in a U shape so it was good view for everyone especially the cake cutting ceremony.

They had the red velvet cake from Hummingbird Bakery which everyone was swooning after |

Chats going on while some were plainly waiting for the food heh |
