I love SG! | Singapore Day 2014

Today was my first time at Singapore Day here in London.  This event happens once every 2 years and takes place in a major city around the world.  The last time it was here at Hampton Court Palace but I missed it as I remember Cynthia and I were in Amsterdam that very same weekend.  This is organised by the Overseas Singaporean Unit in collaboration with some government units and private companies.  At one of the events last year, they did a poll amongst us, asking what local food do we want for SG day in 2014. Fast forward and today was the day!  With much hype no less.  Thankfully the weather was beautiful.  Let me show you what I mean. I love how this tree is saying "It's Spring, it's Spring!" We contemplated driving to Victoria Park but knowing how big the event is, it might probably be difficult to find parking spots.  But then again it's not a convenient place for us to get to, and JX called us telling us where we can park. ...

Happy Birthday my love!!

It is 19th March here in Singapore (just passed midnight) and today is a special day which makes me wish I were back in London.  *drumroll* It is K's birthday!! I was a little sad that I would not be spending his birthday with him today as his birthday and my grandma's birthday are days apart.  After some discussion he agreed that I should be home and I can always celebrate with him when I am back. These 12 days apart I made him agree to send me a selfie everyday (hehe hence what you see above).  He is not the super romantic kind of person with sweet mushy texts or calls, so I think a selfie everyday is a good idea.  Since we met, I have noticed that he prefers to show his love through practical ways, like driving me everywhere (including shopping which is a miracle lol, though he nags I should probably get serious on getting my driver's licence soon), we take turns to cook meals after work (he is quite a good cook - yay to that!), and he gives good foot rubs...

… and we have our winners!

Saturday night was our much anticipated finale night of our Come Dine with Me mini series.  It was to be held at the Ghosh's residence all the way in (posh) Maida Vale, starting at 730pm. Finale night! Before that… I think our house is slowly coming together.  Just 2 weeks ago I asked K "Do you feel at home in this place?"  And truthfully both of us said "no".  "It's too cold, I miss the warmth of our apartment.." K said.  For me, everything is so foreign, yes agree about the coldness, and not having a bed didn't help either.  I was lucky that I could work from home last Thursday to welcome the arrival of… our bed!  We ordered it on 1st December 2013 and can you believe how long it took for the man to make the bed?  We were told he is a perfectionist and will settle for no less.. hence the looooong wait. Unglam but I say cute photo of us with our heart shaped pillow.  Finally we are no longer sleeping on our mattress on the cold ...
