Ah it's been rather quiet here. And the reason? Well… I've got a confession to make.
I've been kept very busy watching DOTS, or more commonly known… Descendants of the Sun (lol)!
A Straits Times article said that if you haven't heard of it, you must be living under a big rock. To be fair, it should be more like "under a big rock in Asia" because it is an Asian phenomenon. What a success this show has been. How it started for me is this: back in March when we were in Singapore, my girl friends and I saw a few news articles about how the Chinese government was concerned about their citizens watching this Korean TV drama and getting hooked on it (true story). And then I saw my cousin sharing a clip from the show on Facebook. My interest was duly piqued then and soon, at least an article or two of the leading actor appeared on my Straits Times news feed everyday (everyday!). My Singaporean and Malaysian girlfriends here also started talking about it and I knew I couldn't escape from it anymore. Like they say, if you can't beat them, JOIN THEM.
I.gotta.watch.and.see.what.the.fuss.is.about.
This is my first Korean drama so in all honesty I have nothing to compare against and hence I don't have any answer on why this is such a phenomenal success. Nonetheless yes I have been spending every weeknight watching an episode or two on Captain Yoo and Dr Kang (and their heart fluttering love story). I'm at episode 11 now whoop!
So this has nothing to do with my title so far but I thought I should explain the silence here ;)
Two weekends ago we spotted signs of Spring and out on a whim, we went to Leeds Castle taking advantage of our annual pass with the Kims to enjoy some Springtime air. It's an easy 45min drive from our home and when we arrived, we were greeted by so many springtime flowers in the fields. Such pretty purple and white flowers. Little kids were running and and amongst the flowers. Sweet!
It's also the hanami season so there were cherry blossoms which was really pretty. It was a short 2h chilled out time walking the grounds of the castle and a few photos to share here. If you follow HK entertainment news, a celebrity couple recently had their secret wedding here at Leeds Castle a few weeks ago. Sun was shining but the winds were non stop relentless. We sat on the grass to enjoy some crisps and snacks but gave up after 20min cos it was still too cold for picnics.
Right. You know what I'm going to do now ;) Laters!
