Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary, my love

Before I blog about the shocking Brexit results or even our mini Italian getaway from the Brexit chaos, yesterday was our third wedding anniversary! *cue celebratory music* I still look back on 29th June 2013 fondly, secretly wishing I could relive that day (and buy better quality sky lanterns for that matter!). To honour this special day, I shall endeavour to do a " 10 things I love about you ".   Please excuse the mush. 1) How you make me laugh - this I have to rate as top of the list because you really do make me laugh and that definitely makes life less boring.  You always crack me up when you do an impersonation of a posh English gentleman. 2) How easy-going you are but knowing when to make a decisive decision.  You are easy on small everyday decisions such as what to have for dinner, or what to do this weekend.  In fact you always forget what we had planned to do this/ next weekend and so now whenever friends want to ask us out, they wi...

Leave vs Remain?

These days after work at night, the TV is either showing EU Referendum debates or a Euro 2016 game. My postal vote I don't wish to downplay this EU Referendum (or what's termed as "Brexit" - Br itain Exit ing) because like what someone said, this is probably the only time we see something like this is our lifetime.  Next Thursday 23rd June, Britain will vote to either stay or exit the European Union.  I am not one to write about politics and don't wish to recreate any of the countless articles written on this subject.  Truth is, this is a very important vote and because of this, many of us are forced (in a good way) to understand economics and politics more.  Every man on the street, everyone of voting age.  Bankers, bus drivers, nurses, accountants, cleaners, lawyers, grocers, doctors, Commonwealth citizens like us residing in the UK.  The young and the old.  The nation is on the edge with increased intensity of propaganda these past two weeks...

Highclere Castle | Downton Abbey

Last weekend was another Bank Holiday weekend (yay) and so the group of us decided to drive about 2h into Hampshire to visit Highclere Castle.  This castle has been made very famous thanks to the hugely popular TV series Downton Abbey and some of us have been wanting to visit since last summer.  However they are only open to the public from Sundays to Wednesdays for limited periods of time so it has been pretty difficult to schedule a day trip.  We were worried that we would arrive 2h later to no tickets, and so being the typical kiasu  Singaporeans, JX suggested arriving at our place at 720am!  He planned for us to arrive 9ish to get the tickets.  (Advance tickets always seem to be sold out per their website).  Turned out that the Uber cab for Lawrence and WL was late and so the bunch of them arrive at ours close to 8am.  We took a quick breakfast break at the MacDonalds along the motorway - fuel to start the day. Arrived! The drive there ...
