Merry Christmas! Hope you had a good one. We are just back from Stuttgart in Germany, spending yet another lovely Christmas with our German family which I will blog about next :)
The week leading up to Christmas, work was pretty quiet as many people were on their holidays. I decided to work throughout except for the two bank holidays which was pretty nice. Honestly you don't work too much during this season and I spent quite a few days working from home.

Rachel's Christmas tree by her fireplace |
Rachel kindly invited us over for a Christmas dinner at her place together with a few other friends. When we arrived, we saw a police car parked outside her house and a few policemen talking with two guy friends whom we recognised from a distance. So strange, we thought. What's going on? Turns out that Rachel's elderly neighbour right across her house had been burgled. Oh gosh! The policemen were asking people if they saw anything but of course none of us including our friends did for they just arrived too. We found out that the elderly man was out and when he came home he actually saw a few men in the midst of ransacking his place. When they saw him, somehow they managed to run away. Poor guy! I hope the police have tracked them down, although we do think it's quite difficult...
We stepped into Rachel's place to be greeted with a lovely aroma coming from her kitchen and wow her table was set beautifully.

Soon everyone arrived and the meal started.

Of course we need a pic first before tucking in |

Look at this turkey crown! I do wonder how big the turkey is if this is just the crown. |

To a great new year! |
We chatted throughout the night and left Rachel's place about 1230am. Seriously, time flies when you are spending enjoyable time together. So much love and effort went into the whole meal, thanks Rachel!
We started preparing for our trip to Stuttgart, and I had to ensure presents are bought, including some special orders :) such as fresh Monmouth coffee powder for Werner (Pris' father in law) and a few other bits and pieces. While getting coffee powder, the whole Borough Market was so Christmassy and beautiful; I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of this flower shop called Chez Michelle.
Up next, our German Christmas!
