In recent years I've started to admire and appreciate spring blooms more than ever before. Perhaps it's due to the influence of social media, or perhaps it's because we have a garden and my eyes have been opened. I've been making mental notes of what to look out for in each month.
The first signs of spring here are always the yellow daffodils. That is one of the surest signs of Spring. Followed by hyacinths, tulips and of course the ever popular cherry blossoms. They are easily identifiable from afar and with their delicate white or pale pink flowers, you can't help but fall in love with them. We have a cherry tree in our garden which springs forth white delicate cherry blossoms, and come June we have orange cherries in season. The row of cherry blossoms in Greenwich Park are very popular, thanks to social media. Every spring, people flock to the famous avenue to look at the tree lined blossoms, us included. In the last two years, we have also learnt not to go on a weekend because it is always teeming with people and influencers, all wanting a perfect shot. Thanks to our friend CY, I've also learnt how to "monitor" the blooms via Instagram. A quick search of Greenwich Park and you can see if there is a barrage of pink blossoms uploads. That will give you a good indication if it is time to pop by!
Last Wednesday I brought both Izzy and Gabriel to Greenwich Park and it was so beautiful. And peaceful. In fact we were the only ones who laid out a picnic mat. It felt like we had the blossoms to ourselves which was lovely. I dug out my old by trusty Nikon DSLR and guess who hijacked it? Izzy was so excited and kept snapping which was a cute sight to behold that we had passers by who looked and smiled at her.

She told me she wanted to put the flowers in her hair |
In case you were wondering, out of all the out of focus shots Izzy took, I liked the few below.

A candid shot of me |

I like how my hair was billowing in the wind, if only she included my whole head in the frame! Oh well, let's call it an artistic shot |

I was taking her and she was doing the same to me |

She took this lone one of Gabriel |
